Day Tour to Dahshur & Saqqara Pyramids

Your day begins with a comfortable, air-conditioned pickup from your hotel. We drive south from Cairo, leaving the city behind as we approach the serene desert landscape of Dahshur.

· The Bent Pyramid: Your first stop is one of the most unique and visually striking pyramids in all of Egypt. Built by the Pharaoh Sneferu, the Bent Pyramid showcases a clear "learning curve." Its lower section rises at a steep 54-degree angle, but when architects feared it would become unstable, they abruptly changed the angle to a safer 43 degrees, giving it its distinctive "bent" shape. This is a true snapshot of ancient engineering in action.

· The Red Pyramid (North Pyramid): Just a short distance away stands Egypt's first successful, true smooth-sided pyramid. Also built by Sneferu, the Red Pyramid is a masterpiece that paved the way for the Great Pyramids of Giza. For the adventurous, you have the option to climb down deep into the burial chamber—an experience far less crowded than any other pyramid interior.

After exploring Dahshur, we take a short drive to the immense necropolis of Saqqara, the burial ground for the ancient capital of Memphis.

· The Step Pyramid Complex of Djoser: Behold the world's oldest stone structure! Designed by the genius architect Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser around 2650 BCE, the Step Pyramid is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. You'll explore the vast complex, including the Great South Court, the Heb Sed Court, and the colonnaded entrance, marveling at the ingenuity that started it all.

Saqqara is more than just pyramids. We then delve into the lives of the ancient Egyptian elite.

· The Mastaba of Mereruka: This is the largest and most detailed non-royal tomb in Saqqara. The vividly colored reliefs depict scenes of daily life, from farming and hunting to crafts and family, offering an unparalleled window into the Old Kingdom.

· The Mastaba of Ti: Another masterpiece, the tomb of Ti, a high-ranking official, features some of the most beautifully preserved and artistically significant carvings in Egypt, showcasing scenes of boat building, music, and offerings.
